MUSIC LOOP

Since I was on leave from work and taking care of  my son the whole day. I've realized that it was physically tiring to do all these small things. These days, I always find a simple way of giving myself a treat at the end of the day. To wash away all the tiredness in my body, I'll take a hot shower and put an after bath body oil. Go to bed and play my favorite music that relaxes my mind, body and soul.

Right now, I am listening to John Mayer, Portishead, I Am Sam OST, Incubus, Tori Amos, & Paula Cole to name a few. Their music itself relaxes me, not the usual instrumental or jazzy music, I like jazz though.

Anyway, I'd like to share my current Top 10 most played music/music videos. Enjoy!

10. Roads
Portishead
Love at first heard!

 9. Echo
Incubus
Incubus, my all time favorite band. I love them.
(Sorry, I couldn't find a nice video on YouTube.)

8. Patience
Guns N'Roses
I am not a GN'R fan, but I like this one and Sweet Child of Mine.

7. Across The Universe
Rufus Wainwright
I love the film and the soundtrack.
I love the Beatles and so the cover versions.
This one is my favorite among the songs.

6. Where Have All The Cowboys Gone
Paula Cole
This song brings me back to those days I was still in college.
College days are MTV Days!

5. Honestly
Harem Scarem
They're good, and still good. This is classic.

THANK YOU, MOM!

It was long and tiring week for us. It was my Mom’s last week of stay here in Dubai. She arrived last February 11, with my brother-in-law after accompanying my son. How time flies too fast as I realized when she left last Saturday, April 30 - after completing her 3 months visit visa here. I owe her everything, especially looking after my son while we were at work. We will surely miss her and oh! her food, she’s a good cook, a very patient woman and a listener to everyone.

Thank you so much, Nanay!

FIRST OF SUMMER

These days I'll be posting more of Earl's milestone. Last Friday was his first swimming experience. I was a bit reluctant to get him into the pool, but I was surprised to see him as he kicks and plays with water. He's like a fish came from aquarium and freed into the ocean. Happiness! :)

Suddenly, I remember those days when he was still in my womb. There were uncomfortable nights because his movement was so intense. The doctor said, he moves a lot and probably the reason why his umbilical chord wrapped into his neck and  right arm.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE FILIPINO IF...

While sorting out some of our stuff during the de-cluttering of our room last friday. I've found my old favorite book - entitled You Know You're Filipino If...  I purchased it year 2007.

Obviously, its about Filipinos. The intention of the author was to help the reader to find out, just how Pinoy are you? A random categories of Pinoy way of dealing in every day's life - from family matters, the way we speak, the way we eat, the way we travel, even the way we shop and so on. I like the whole concept, the content as well as the illustrations.

I find it very interesting, so true and has sense of humor.

TOUGH DAY!

Friday was supposed to be our rest day and I was planning to start my morning a little late, but ended up waking at 5am because of my son's tiny hands tapping into my face. So, I fetched him while the rest are still sleeping. I heard a chat buzz, it was my 7 year old niece, Julianne - trying to give me a chat call. And so we had the usual conversation we do during weekends, but not that early though.

I bid goodbye for the meantime as I fastened my son in his stroller and brought him with me, while carrying the laundry bag and putting all the stuff in the machine. Then went straight to the kitchen and let him watch me preparing ham & cheese sandwich for our breakfast and making faces at the same time. Multitasking!:)

Around 7, they're all up and had our breakfast... And let the tough day begin! My husband and brother-in-law, went off to hardware store to get some materials for their carpentry stuff, meanwhile my mom insisted to bathe Earl. So, I could start with other chores - cleaning and re-arranging things in our room.

Right after a long and tiring day, we treat ourselves with a nice dinner courtesy of my mom.
As the night falls, everyone headed to their bed and started to ZZZzzzzzzzz!

ROXETTE LIVE IN DUBAI

I am a fan of Roxette when I was like 10, and the first song I heard was The Look (She's Got The Look). I didn't know that they were a group/duo artists then. All along I thought Roxette is Marie Fredriksson. They're a big success during the late 80s until the mid-90s with their other songs Listen To Your Heart, It Must Have Been Love, Joyride and Dangerous.

After two decades, and yet I can still feel the power of their songs - super love, period! I wish I could go and see their concert here in Dubai.
